10 -15 years in the nursing fraternity

 

Qualifications

  • 12th Pass + GNM Course
  • 12th Pass + B.Sc. (Nursing) / M.Sc. (Nursing)

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Check the availability of free slot and make the requisite booking for patients
  • Cancellation of provisional booking if the booking amount is not deposited within a specified time frame
  • Confirm with the nurse in-charge if the same equipment is required for more than one case and make the final bookings accordingly e.g., pediatric cases.
  • Once the OT list for the next day is ready, submit the same to OT Manager
  • Inform perfusionist about the cases booked
  • Ensure that the specified theatre is used for a particular specialty
  • Ensure that the infected cases are taken up according to protocol given by Infection Control Committee
  • Check duties of all OT staff and maintain a record for the same
  • Receive a ‘handover’ from night duty staff
  • Monitor the final segregation of biomedical waste every morning
  • Take round of all 5 operation theatres twice a day and check for any discrepancy in the laid down protocols
  • Check all instrument charges and categories
  • Participate in a meeting conducted every week with Biomedical and Maintenance dept regarding OT Maintenance
  • Maintain a list of all operations conducted in a day as well as time taken for each, and to send it to the office of the Medical Director
  • To maintain a list of all major and minor operations conducted in a month and submit the same to the Medical Administration
  • In case of shortage of staff, to perform duties of senior nurse in OT
  • Inform problems to superiors
  • Inform long absenteeism to HR department
  • To check review sheets (training to probation / probation to confirmation) and return to personnel department
  • Sanctioning of staff leaves
  • Monthly linen checking and giving record of linen to the linen committee
  • Adjustment of leave &weekly off
  • To attend meeting with superiors, if any
  • Take interview of new staff & selection
  • Counselling of staff
  • Liaison with all departments like:
    • Medical Administration
    • HR / Personnel
    • Maintenance
    • Reception / Billing /Doctors etc.
